The Assignment Is Still Valid

There are moments in life when God gives you an idea, a vision, or an assignment that feels both exciting and terrifying at the same time. It’s the kind of vision that doesn’t always make sense to everyone around you. Sometimes it doesn’t even make sense to you.

But somehow, deep down, you know it’s yours.

I think about Noah.

God instructed Noah to build an ark long before rain had ever fallen on the earth. Imagine being told to build something so massive, so unusual, and so seemingly unnecessary in the eyes of everyone watching.

People likely questioned him. Some probably laughed. Others might have assumed he had lost his mind.

But Noah wasn’t building based on public opinion. He was building based on obedience.

That distinction matters.

Sometimes when God places something in your heart, it can feel discouraging when others view it as “just another version” of something that already exists. In creative fields especially, it’s easy for people to say, “There are already so many designers,” or “Someone else is already doing that.”

And that may be true, but so what.

They are not you.

God has never been limited by the existence of similar work. What makes an assignment unique is not always the category, it’s the person carrying it.

Your experiences. Your perspective. Your obedience. Your story.

Those things cannot be duplicated.

There are many designers in the world, but the assignment God gives to one person may not be the same assignment He gives to another. Some people will see fashion as clothing. Others will see artistry. A few will recognize it as storytelling.

And an even smaller number will recognize when something carries purpose.

Another trap many creators fall into today is believing that visibility must come through numbers. Social media can make it seem like your voice only matters if thousands of people are watching.

But numbers are not the same thing as impact.

Whether you have 100 followers or 10,000 followers, God is fully capable of making the right person see your work at the right time. The right opportunity does not come from algorithms. It comes from alignment.

When you are walking in obedience and stewarding what has been placed in your hands, God has a way of positioning your work exactly where it needs to be seen.

Metrics may measure attention.

But obedience attracts purpose.

The reality is that not everyone will see what you see.

Not everyone will understand why you keep building, creating, writing, sewing, designing, or dreaming when it would be easier to stop.

But obedience rarely requires public approval.

It only requires faith.

The people who are meant to see the deeper meaning eventually will. And the ones who don’t were never the intended audience for the assignment in the first place.

So if God has placed something in your hands whether it’s a vision, a craft, a business, or a calling, build it.

Build it even if it feels unfamiliar. Build it even if it’s been done before. Build it even if only a few people recognize what it is.

Because the assignment is not validated by popularity.

It is validated by obedience.

And when something is built in obedience, it will always carry a weight and purpose that imitation can never replicate.

Sometimes the work we are doing today won’t fully make sense until later.

But that doesn’t make the assignment any less real.

So keep building.
